Mohun Sisters visited the Akron Motherhouse on Tuesday, April 16 for a Prayer Service. During which, they sang, prayed, and shared memories of their time in Akron. Immediately following, a delicious lunch was served in the dining room. All enjoyed visiting with eachother.

Sr. Tram Bui, a trained physical therapist from Vietnam, initially left religious life to earn her doctorate. After feeling called back during a mission trip, she re-entered in 2020. Sr. Tram made her Temporary Profession in 2023 and now serves at the Mohun Health Care Center.

The Akron Sisters hosted an Appreciation Lunch, honoring staff. Sr. Marie gave opening remarks. All sisters gave the Dominican Blessing, and Sr. Valerie led a meal prayer. The event coincided with the 15th Anniversary of the Dominican Sisters of Peace, adding to its significance.

Learning to converse in English is the single biggest contributor to new Americans becoming more integrated and engaged in the community. At the Springs LC, we offers English As a Second Language classes for adults in New Haven.
