Wythe Street near the I-95 bridge in Petersburg is open following a watermain break on Friday night. The repairs were made by Petersburg Public Works crews, who stayed on-site all night in freezing temperatures to fix the break. Their dedication and hard work are appreciated!

TRAFFIC ALERT! There is a watermain break under the I-95 bridge on Wythe Street. Only one traffic lane is open on Wythe in this area. Repairs are expected to take over 4 hours. Please take a detour at Jefferson Street if possible.

Petersburg Public Works and Utilities Storm Response Team are pretreating bridges and main roads today to prepare for forecasted snow. The City asks citizens to stay off the roads during the snowstorm. Call (804) 732-4222 to report poor road conditions.

*ROAD CLOSURE*
A crash has closed all northbound lanes of S Crater Road near I-95, as well as the ramp that leads from South Crater Road to the interstate. Northbound lanes closed between Crater Square Rd and Siege Rd, as well as ramp to I-95 South. Please avoid the area.

Boil Water Notice in Petersburg Canceled
Residents and businesses in Petersburg no longer need to boil water. Test results indicate city water is safe to drink.

South Crater Road will close in both directions between Graham Road and Winfield Road from 6pm on Monday, December 19 to 6am on Tuesday, December 20. VDOT is continuing to work on the I-95 bridge over that area of Crater Road.

The Petersburg Public Library will be closed on Fri., Dec. 16. Public Works will be repairing a water line that will cut-off water to the Library. Water pressure may be low during repairs to businesses and homes near the Library. The Library will reopen on Sat., Dec. 17.

St. Andrews Street bridge is now open for traffic. The roadway and bridge connect Crater Road in the Blandford area with Jefferson Street in the Poplar Lawn community.
