Good to see Gareth Wilkinson UTV Live News covering the severe impacts of the Irish defective blocks crisis where internal sulfate attack has ruined 1000s of homes. I was happy to discuss the latest science we are doing confirming the role that pyrrhotite is having on Donegal homes
Eoin McGrath, Geological Survey Ireland Dept. Environment, Climate and Communications is at #ICISR in Quebec, and brought together all attendees funded by Gov. of Ireland to study Irish defective aggregates. We are working with Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage to ensure the best scientific research is available to all stakeholders.
A 76 year old man, in tears, broken. This is the reality of what is happening on the ground Darragh O'Brien
No more hiding. No more waffle from the department reps saying we dont have data on how much people are out of pocket. It's your mess Fianna Fáil Fine Gael. Fix it
#ICISR was such a brilliant meeting. It brought a large international science team together to share their latest insights on pyrrhotite & internal sulfate attack occuring in defective Irish homes & iron sulfide risks in Irish aggregates Geological Survey IE Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage Geography and Environmental Sciences
I'm looking forward to chairing the final session of #ICISR2024 which kicks off with a talk from Andreas Leemann on internal sulfate attack in count Mayo
The first session of day 2 #ICISR2024 is on the mechanisms of iron sulfide reactions...a Really important session on understanding the fundamental mechanism that's destroying homes across Ireland, USA, Canada
