Did you know that following the collapse of Orkney’s kelp industry in the early 1830s, North Ronaldsay sheep had to be pushed off the land and onto the foreshore, in order to utilise the available acreage.

After last week's announcement of Government support for new , it's great to see an extension of support for existing abattoirs. For many livestock farmers, abattoirs are a bigger worry than BPS.

Great day yesterday at Gordon Castle
Time for a quick photo before the gates open which was the last time we had to stand around. Crowds very keen to see the rare and native breeds of sheep, and of course the Nth Ronaldsay lamb.
