Approaching #NursesDay , I had the most wonderful opportunity to be invited to the His Royal Majesty’s Garden Party, along with some fantastic nursing staff and colleagues who are doing so much great work!

I want to pay tribute to midwives everywhere today, the International Day of the Midwife.

Your commitment and dedication, often in difficult circumstances, is an inspiration.

Excited and inspired to be joining today's anti-racism summit at the RCN.

Ensuring the RCN becomes an anti-racist organisation is an absolute priority, and today will be a big step forward to developing a strategy to deliver this.

#StephenLawrenceDay is always a solemn day.

His murder and the subsequent findings of the Macpherson Report were a watershed moment for the fight against racism in the UK.

Today and all days, let's commit to challenging racism wherever we find it.

The right to strike must be defended.

I welcome Supreme Court ruling which protects workers from being penalised for taking strike action, but the right to strike is still under threat from this govt.

I'd like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Dame Ruth May, the CNO of England, on her retirement.

Her exemplary leadership during challenging times has inspired all of us. I also thank her for her unwavering commitment to working with the RCN over the past 5 years.

It’s always a pleasure to celebrate our incredible profession with all of you, and this year we’ll be using the day to demand nursing gets the recognition it deserves.

With voting on the Rwanda bill scheduled in Parliament today, we reiterate that it represents a backwards step in asylum and human rights policy and once more call upon the UK government to abandon the bill in its entirety.
