Paywall but worth reading: The professor leaves unanswered questions I’ve been asking: Did EPD tell protestors to disperse? How long did police give to comply? Did EPD call APD & GSP after warning? Does prof believe Emory had authority to order dispersal?

It’s been 3+ weeks since Sen. Ossoff told the USPS boss to fix mail delays in weeks. Today we’re told our senators “demand answers.” ⁦Jillian Price⁩ reports the senators “have been begging for answers….” Makes me think of Sisyphus & that boulder.

So APS is will spend $1.8 billion next year on about 50,000 students. That’s $35-36,000/student. Damn, imagine how great APS will be when it’s no longer underfunded. Oh, and that 3% cut in admin costs is….. unserious when it comes to trimming the fat.

We’re 15 days past the confrontation that fueled this criticism of Fenves, and we still don’t have answers to basic questions: What warning did EU police give protestors and when? And when did EPD call in APD & GSP? This doesn’t seem like too much ask.

I did several stories on declining DUI arrests in GA years ago. Enforcement was definitely down. ⁦⁦Atlanta Police Department⁩ dropped it’s DUI team but said enforcement was still a priority. Uber-Lyft also a factor, but someone should check on cases & deaths.

Faculty statement asserts “no evidence of violence on the part of protestors…” Set aside the guy who spit in an officer’s face. Did EPD tell protestors to disperse & they refused? Do faculty think EPD even has the authority to order dispersal?

By my count, it’s been 7 weeks since Judge McAfee issued his ruling in the Willis-Wade matter. Defense lawyers asked the Court of Appeals to review it. DA opposed that. Has COA said whether it will review McAfee‘s decision? If so, I missed that.

This little flyer showed up neatly rolled and in plastic on my driveway this morning. I figured it was someone selling gutter guards, but, no, it’s all about the big (Jewish) conspiracy. I saw the same on about six other driveways.

If you want “consequences” for protestors who disrupt campuses, refuse to disperse, attack cops, etc., suspension is the way to get their attention. Solicitors in these counties will probably drop crim charges. Stark comparison btw the Emory & UGA responses.

Today’s Atlanta Journal-Constitution has a clear quote from the UGA police chief to those protestors yesterday. No compliance was followed by arrests. Can we get more clarity
