A new report suggests that South Sudan🇸🇸 recorded the second highest percentage increase in military spending globally in 2023.
The report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute says the spending rose by 78% to reach $1.1 billion.

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan has intensified its presence in Tambura County of Western Equatoria as interethnic conflict has displaced up to 9000 civilians.
The peacekeepers are protecting civilians who fled to the mission's temporary base in the area.
