YVAI recognizes the importance of combating climate change and as such today we participated in election of Kilifi County representative in the Financing Locally-Led Climate Action . We are determined to empower the vulnerable community in the fight against climate change.

As an organization, YVAI endeavors to support the community through outreaches , Especially AGYW to understand their unique needs and responses & mentor them. Community outreaches also shows our commitment to social responsibility hence stronger and more resilient community.

Nothing is working in Kenya for the children of the poor parents. I mean:

1. No School feeding program

2. No student medical cover

3. No Linda mama

4. No pads for our school going girls

5. HELB reduced significantly.

One is left to wonder, what did poor children do wrong

Additionally, half of all mental health conditions start by age 14, and 75% by age 24, highlighting the importance of early intervention and support for AGYW's mental well-being. As an organization we are committed to mental wellbeing of AGYW.

Did you know that AGYW are affected by mental health challenges? Statistics show that globally, depression is a leading cause of illness and disability among females aged 15-19, with rates nearly double those of males in the same age group.
