Still wearing undercoat pending repaint later this month, 69010 approaches Langham on 02/05/24 with the 6L15 Toton North Yard to Whitemoor SCO bulk tripper. The former 56065 was built in October 1979 by BREL at Doncaster Works and for many years was a Leicester allocated machine.

A good start to the day.

92028 was running late but sounding great. An eventful run from Inverness then a trespass incident at Chester Le Street made 1M16 a tad delayed. Passengers getting a couple of hours extra kip on a Bank Holiday and some Delay Repay into the mix. 06/05/24

ON THIS DAY: 77 years ago, the Central Line was extended from Stratford to Leytonstone, the latter is where we see a train that has just reversed eastbound to westbound, now bound for Wood Lane while an LNER steam service waits to depart towards Epping / Ongar. Photo: CRL Coles
