Anti-Israel protests have erupted on college campuses across America. But here in Southern Illinois, there’s a much different story to tell. I recently surveyed my IL-12 constituents for their perspective, and it’s safe to say that support for Israel is strong.

As one of the only former professional firefighters in Congress, it was a pleasure to welcome members of the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association to my office. We discussed first responder response systems and how important emergency technology is in keeping communities safe.

Today marks the beginning of Small Business Week, a week to recognize & thank all the local job creators for the work they’re doing to strengthen Main Streets across Southern Illinois. Small businesses are the backbone of the economy, and I’ll continue standing up for them in DC.

It was a pleasure to meet with some police officers from Monroe County and their spouses during their trip to our nation’s capital. We had a great conversation about the challenges officers and first responders, as well as their families, face in rural Illinois.
