CHP Auburn has shut down the road until the huge boulders can be cleared.

The man killed in Wednesday’s Palisades Tahoe avalanche has been identified as 66 year old Kenneth Kidd who is a resident of both Point Reyes and the Truckee Tahoe area.

There is going to be a press conference with Placer Sheriff as well as Palisades Tahoe officials and others about the avalanche at the resort earlier this morning at 2:30

Currently in route to Palisades Tahoe where officials are reporting a avalanche happened around 9:30 this morning above the GS gully area of KT-22.

They tell us a search is underway.

Vacaville Police are investigating a suspicious package after employees from the Vacaville Post Office on 200 Prairie Court called in around 11 this morning.

Several businesses were evacuated and people are asked to avoid the area.
