As an fyi, you can literally book this right now as Lufthansa Cityline and it will be operated by Lufthansa City Airlines come the day.

Literally the same thing. Who are they trying to fool here? 🀷

What’s also worth pointing out is that with a streamlined passport service (my visits to the US have seen vastly reduced queues compared to pre Covid), through checked bags could completely negate the need for US pre clearance, so does EDI need to build theirs?

Could this be the start of something quite big?

Currently transfers from international flights to the US are required to re-check their bag on arrival in the US. Delta looks to be trailing a path to remove this need, starting with 2 routes:

The Ryanair effect on the Manchester-Cork route.

From 7th busiest in 2019 to 4th busiest in 2023. Almost doubled in pax numbers.

Love them or hate them, you can’t deny Ryanair are a force to be reckoned with!

Another quiet Sunday, so have some northern lights. Somewhere over Canada (that’s code for I can’t remember exactly where πŸ˜‚)

Could Hainan Airlines launch Birmingham?

It seems they are on a fact finding mission to see if a BHX route is feasible.

China is a huge market currently and will only grow in time, so I personally think this is entirely possible

I don’t know who made this list, or the methodology used, but I can confirm the Shrek adventure in London is pants.

We went not long after it opened, and came away thinking β€˜what the hell was that?!’.

Info |

As predicted when they went 5 weekly over winter, Iberia Express are currently showing as daily to Manchester next summer, starting 30th March.

Nice to see this measured build up, and hopefully the daily schedule will enhance connections and thus further improve loads.

Corrected info |

Emirates Skycargo are aiming for a new 2 weekly flight into Manchester from May 2nd.

Thu arrives 1515 departs 1720
Sat arrives 1120 departs 1350

B77F used.

It also appears Air China *may* be willing to wait for CAA so fingers crossed.

Thanks to Paul Clare

Sun arrives 1120 departs 1350

B77F used (hopefully).

It also appears Air China *may* be willing to wait for CAA too, but still looking unlikely.
