At just 15 years of age, Anita was able to avert early marriage.

In Nepal, the Rupantaran programme is helping girls like her build confidence and learn how to speak out, so they can shape their own future. They also learn crafts that earn them some income.

We welcome this support that will help UNICEF Afghanistan teams to rehabilitate 385 public schools in the country.

Investing in schools and learning will help ensure that children have the skills they need for their future.

It was great to join a Mother’s Group meeting in Janakpur where female Community Health Volunteers support mothers with information on nutrition, health, hygiene & cash grants.

With more support these health volunteers can help scale up results for children & families in Nepal.

I recently met 15-month-old Reyanshi at a nutrition rehabilitation centre in Janakpur, Nepal.

She was there with her mother to receive treatment for malnutrition. Thanks to the doctors, nurses and community health workers, she’s now on the road to recovery.

Everywhere I go in South Asia, I see girls and young women who are driven and determined, skilled and solution-oriented.

Scaling up investments for girls can help break down barriers and unlock their potential to fulfill their own dreams & lift their communities in the process.

Recently I met a little girl in Afghanistan who told me she was studying to become a doctor. At UNICEF, we will continue to do everything we can to make sure that she is able to do so.
