Aldwych tour with Subterranea Britannica over their 50 years weekend celebrations. This is the disused former running tunnel, opened in 1904 and closed in 1911.
Lost to history is the reason that when the line was single tracked that they decided to swap tunnels halfway down.

Ok X buddies… need help… I read an essay on a future vision of subterranean warfare, ca. 2050, with a covert team doing sneaky-beaky stuff in a contested SbT environment. I think is was set in the AusPac theatre… has anyone else read this and has the link to an online copy?

What does the death of Ismail Haniyeh's 3 sons in Gaza City tell us about the state of the war, about Israel's achievements thus far, and what the plan appears to be? (my 1st ever🧵)

An under-appreciated aspect of fighting WW1 in the Dolomites…the rock is really horrible to climb on, very crumbly and unstable. Ledges are covered in loose stones, holds are fragile, and rock-falls are common. That’s on top of all the shooting, grenades, artillery, etc.
