Earlier this year, University of Alberta said their hands were tied about a residential school genocide denialist speaking/fundraising on campus despite pressure from students and faculty. Today, they immediately called in riot police to crack down on their students for protesting a genocide

As a University of Alberta alum, I am disgusted and disappointed that administration would rather use riot cops to violently repress students than listen to their peaceful demands to divest from a genocide. This, to be clear, is a failure of leadership.
