We are deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Judith Garber, frm U.S. Ambassador to Latvia. Her service and dedication to strengthening Latvia-U.S. relations will be remembered with fondness and appreciation. Our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.

Today we commemorate the end of World War II in Europe. We mourn victims of the Nazi regime and we are grateful to those who fought against Hitler.

Unfortunately, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania regained freedom from the Soviet occupation almost 50 years after the end of the war.
