Hours later…

Picard dips his head into a sterile white and gray room. Outside, winds howl. Romulan refugees chatter. Laughter springs from playing children.

“Hello,” Picard says. “I hope I’m not intruding.”

“They’re on Commander Lavelle’s transport heading for the colony on Scheria,” Raffi says.

“Once the teams install the modulator, set a course for Scheria,” Picard says. “I have—a duty to perform.”
