Here's another cute little Arctic fox cub, this time surrounded by wildflowers, not a nasty dead fish! Hornstrandir, Westfjords #Iceland July 2021.

In July 2021 I finally visited Hornstrandir, the nature reserve at the top of the Westfjords of #Iceland , only accessible by boat, with my husband. It is a superb place for scenery & hiking, full of adorable arctic foxes, like this little cub munching fish on the beach.

You don't need a drone to photograph the wonder of Rauðasandur, as there are excellent views from the scary hairpin road that you have to drive down to get there. One of these days I'll visit when it's sunny...

Another superb Westfjords beach, seen on my first trip there in Sept 2017. Not all of the beaches in #Iceland have black sand!

The first time I visited Rauðasandur in NW #Iceland I got the timing wrong & the tide was high. You really need to visit when the tide is low to see the extent of the swirls. As I drove up the switchbacks on my way out the tide finally turned. A little ICM from Sept 2017.

This is a glimpse of Eystrahorn in the south-east, on a very stormy trip in Feb 2020 (possibly my favourite trip ever!).

Must get myself back to Rauðasandur in the Westfjords of #Iceland - it is a very special place.

Today will mostly be spent shredding 20+ years' worth of bank statements, work stuff, medical letters, insurance docs, pension bumph etc. Ugh. So glad most correspondence is now paper-free!

Never expected to ever see northern lights from my home in very brightly lit London, but tonight that changed! Too many lights in the park at the end of the road, but also had drunk too much to drive to a darker place (oops). Saw an amazing shooting star too.

The weekend starts here!

It appears that the recent eruption in #Iceland has come to an end. The land is still rising, so another one could start any minute.

Here's an image from May 2021 at the incredible Fagradalsfjall eruption. Happy memories!

I haven't had a chance to get down to #RichmondPark for ages (day-job gets in the way!), so haven't seen the glorious flowers in Isabella Plantation yet (and it's probably too late now anyway), but here's one from a trip last May as the ferns were unfurling.
