We released our beautiful butterflies today as part of our art week. What a special end to the half term!

Lynher have been excitedly observing the caterpillars go through the pupa stage and now emerge into beautiful butterflies so we could release them.

A lovely DT hub session today. Great to chat to colleagues about the process of planning, implementing new progression ideas and building concepts maps to support teaching of textiles in school. Thanks Caroline for all the inspiration!

LKS2 creating clay minibeasts.

Art week 2024.
LKS2 have started to use their printing skills to create a variety of minibeasts. Some children took their inspiration from the butterfly, which started to emerge from it's chrysalis today.

Another sneak peek into our Art Week 2024! This time it was clay. We learned about how adding a small amount of water can create a cement to stick smaller pieces of clay together. The water can also be used to smooth the clay. We added beads to add detail to our insects.

Today we started Art Week 2024! KS1 started their close up drawing of insects and their attention to detail was exceptional. They remembered the skills learned this year during art lessons and put them into practice with the oil pastels. 🖼️

Today Tamar had a visit from The Royal Navy and they enhanced their STEM skills by coding robots and making electrical circuits with different outputs.

We started the morning with bacon sandwiches and ended it with lunch on the beach.

Y3 and Y4 have been avidly observing our caterpillars as they have entered the pupa stage.

We made sure our year 6 children had breakfast and fruit today (plus some sweets to help with concentration!)

Our Plymouth and West Devon Trust schools are at St George’s today for our inaugural collaborative art day! We are off to a great start learning all about colour theory.

Children from years 4 and 5 took part in an immersive technology session at Market Hall yesterday. They had a brilliant time! Thank you Real Ideas and Gary Futcher

We are very excited about welcoming lots of children from across our trust tomorrow for our collaborative art day! Paint brushes are poised and lots of colour is awaiting the budding artists…

We welcomed Jeremiah Bear from Jeremiah's journey into school to congratulate many of our children who took part in the Schools Challenge. We raised over £270 for the charity.
