On our 1st survey of the season, we observed 62 occupied nests, & 94 herons in the area. Most of the birds were gathering sticks, BUT there appear to be some early birds: with two nests showing signs of incubation.

When you see a marine mammal, please keep a respectful distance. Fisheries and Oceans Canada recommends 100m when approaching marine mammals, and 200m for killer whales in the southern BC waters.

Last week's Dedicate Invasive Removal Team (DIRT) sessions were spent by our volunteers planting the remaining plants from our planting events throughout the fall. We planted a number of different species such as blackcap raspberry and field mint.
