On Tuesday (14 May) the Flame of the French Nation will make it's way to the UK for the first time, to commemorate D-Day 80. Brittany Ferries Galicia will be escorted into the harbour by a flotilla of 10 historical and Naval vessels.

Get down to the seafront for 1900 to see it.

Fishing is one of the most dangerous professions in the UK with 11,000 people working on fishing vessels in a harsh and unpredictable environment. Today we reflect and commemorate their courage and sacrifice

As an island nation it is important we honour the sacrifice and courage of those that go down to the sea in ships, and those that do business in great waters. Privilege to attend the first National Fishing Remembrance Day service in Portsmouth in recognition of the fisher family
