We love the Beatles so much, we'll even watch someone rewinding one of their tapes for 30 mins. I had a vinyl copy of this Australian Audiophile LP many years ago. I sold it for $1,000. I hate to think what it would be worth today youtu.be/e4e-baQtWxQ?si… via YouTube

1970 photo of the Whisky A Go Go on Sunset Blvd. Linda Ronstadt is appearing and we see billboards for LPs by Paul McCartney and the Faces. The infamous photo of Zappa on the toilet is on the corner and a Triumph TR6 drives by. Don’t forget Big Al’s All Nude bar down the street.

Bruce's severe haircut now closely resembles the one my grandad had when he returned from the first world war in 1918. Face it kids, we fought the 60s haircut wars in vain.

The Spotnicks were a Swedish instrumental group sounding like the Shadows/Ventures. This is their second LP from 1962. Björn Thelin's bass was home made from Levin parts by lead guitarist Bo Winberg. Space was a popular theme at the time. Worth owning just for the sleeve.

White Light/White Heat was the first Velvet Underground LP I owned in 1968. The Verve label was handled by EMI at that point and every sleeve carried the sage advice 'File Under Popular: Pop Groups.' I never understood why the 1971 reissues changed the sleeve to a white design

Ramblin' Jack Elliott poses next to the Albert Memorial in Kensington Gardens on the cover of his 1959 LP 'In London.' The Albert Hall is just across the road. Jack's guitar is a Gretsch Sierra, probably a 40s model.

Jeff Beck at home. He's reading the March 1967 issue of Beat magazine. His 1954 Fender Esquire (bought from John Maus of the Walker Bros) leans against a chair and we see a revolver next to it!

Joe Cocker wearing a Rotherham bus driver's jacket. RCT = Rotherham Corporation Transport. In 1974 Rotherham became part of South Yorkshire and its bus fleet was absorbed into the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE). Too much information you say? You're welcome

Happy 78th Birthday to Donovan. Here's a little something I wrote in two parts ranking his albums:

The Portobello Road branch of Musicland in 1971. We see an Island records display in the window featuring the Mick Abrahams Band (back cover) and the El Pea sampler

When Let It Be was first released on the cinema in May 1970, the London The Standard review seemed fixated with a shaving cut on John's neck (visible here during the rooftop footage), calling it an 'unsightly gash.'

My original movie poster for Let It Be. Back in 1970 it was rated 'G' (General release) and everyone was happy. The new Disney version has changed the rating to 'M' (Mature - not recommended for children under the age of 15). What a world we live in.
