Many kitchen sponges are made of plastic. They have a short lifespan, and as they degrade they release microplastics that end up in the sea. They can't be recycled so will remain in landfill for hundreds of years. Please choose biodegradable sponges!

Trees and grass...the best devices for cooling our environment...and yet we continue to chop them down and pour heat-emanating concretes in their place...we are genuinely barking!!

Artificial lawns should be banned. In the face of a biodiversity crisis, we should be creating habitats, not covering our gardens in ugly plastic where no life can exist. They're non-recyclable, dangerous to pets, the negative list goes on... please sign!!

Fascinating discussion at Science, Innovation and Technology Committee with Chris Packham about the intricate balance of our ecosystem.

I asked about the significance of all animals and insects, including swallows and mosquitoes.

The cockroach story is in my upcoming book!

I am hearing so many horrific reports of hedgehogs injured by strimmers . Terrible wounds to their faces and little legs. Please please be careful when strimming the grassy spots so appealing to hedgehogs. Also they are desperate for water now. A shallow bowlful is a lifesaver. x
