Streatham Wells LTN Watch(@StrWellsLTNEye) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Excellent thread documenting concerns about future traffic plans for Streatham - to be put through by TfL and also those who played a part in the creation of the Streatham Wells LTN?

The suspension of the Streatham Wells LTN is with immediate effect, but Lambeth still has eyes for an amended version of the scheme, councillors have said. 'We will implement a future solution when conditions allow,' Cllr Rezina Chowdhury, Lambeth deputy leader, said.

The kids attending the primary school just out of shot, local residents, and commuters keeping the country running are finally getting some respite.

My favorite video of the year was this ….. Goodman who was a IMPARTIAL pier who found that LTNs worked ……

She was so impartial she stole an anti LTN poster 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Trust your eyes and not the lies ..,

Michele Ragusa Social Environmental Justice I think this is my favourite part - where she notes some 30% of London LTN trials have been reversed (no mention of why!)... so they've just made up the health benefits of those...

Will Norman The peers used data showing my road as empty ….. when in fact it was fully congested … you called this evidence

In this research that Will Norman has got so excited about Rachel Aldred has only tried to assess the health & economic benefits of LTNs. She's hasn't assessed the disbenefits of the additional traffic, noise & pollution many suffer. Or the economic costs of more congestion.

This is the data given to Rachel Aldred by Journeys and Places Enfield … they stated they did not record slow moving vehicles as it was best practice not to do so. This is the data you collect if you do this … 47% evaporation.. up to 6mph slower speed. Delays to buses … data ???

While the decision to suspend the Streatham Wells LTN is welcome, the lack of any hint of apology from Lambeth is disappointing.
So many locals, be they motorists, cyclists and/or bus users, had raised doubts about road and junction capacity/lack of resilience and were ignored.

Lambeth Council has finally suspended the Streatham Wells LTN, which has caused huge congestion and bus delays in south London

I hope my reporting has contributed to this sensible if
long over-due decision. Below is my story and🧵on who's to blame

It's takes your breathe away. The day after Lambeth was forced to suspend Streatham Wells LTN, the poster boy of LTNs, Peter Walker, recycles the old story of Rachel Aldred research identifying the health & economic benefits of LTNs. What of course Aldred didn't do is assess
