Shout out to anyone else who did a last revision lesson with year 11 and they weren’t all hanging off your every word, weren’t bothered enough and half-heartedly looked at your revision resources. You can bring a horse to water etc …

Seeing schooling as preparing children “for work” is purely utilitarian. This thinking basically sees children as units of economic productivity. It’s soulless. It’s essentially the same old school-to-factory pipeline that emerged at the beginning of mass public schooling.
