Private hire vehicles must never stop or wait in taxi ranks or taxi-only charging bays, or the driver could be subject to a Penalty Charge Notice & potentially licensing action.

M25 junction 9-10 weekend closure

PHV drivers: your vehicle licence discs must be displayed at all times and should not be removed or tampered with under any circumstances.

If your disc is damaged, you can get it replaced by contacting 0343 222 5555 to arrange an appointment for a replacement.

TPH drivers must register with the DBS Update Service when they apply for a new/renewal licence and have two opportunities to register:

- 28 days from when you apply for your enhanced DBS check – we recommend this

- 30 days from the date when your DBS certificate was issued

TPH Notice 07/23 sets out changes to taxi and private hire licensing requirements from 1 July, to further improve taxi and private hire passenger safety.
