The promise of Easter is that no matter how much darkness and despair there is on Good Friday, Easter Sunday brings the hope of resurrection and new life. May God continue to bless us all.

Today, we remember the betrayal, the suffering, and death of Good Friday. Our faith guides us to believe that as surely as the blooms of spring follow the dark and gray of winter, we will rejoice on Easter morning.

I am sad to hear of the passing of @senjoelieberman. I was the first elected Democrat in New York State to endorse him in his presidential bid in 2004. Joe’s values drove his public service.

My heart goes out to the family of NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller from Massapequa Park, who was tragically shot and killed in the line of duty. A dedicated husband, father, and police officer, Officer Diller lost his life in the service of others.
