The gala event planned for May 25th in El Paso celebrating the Border Patrol’s 100 years of history has been canceled. All other events will proceed as planned.

5/12: USBP agents in Chula Vista, CA arrested Gabriel Uribe-Rodriguez, a Colombian national with an extensive criminal history including, Homicide, Aggravated Theft & Trafficking of Firearms & Ammunition.

Uribe will be removed from the U.S. and sent back to Colombia.

4/10: USBP agents in Santa Teresa, NM & the local fire department rescued 1 subject from the Rio Grande River using swift water rescue techniques.

Great work by our agents and the fire department to save this person's life.

5/8: USBP agents in Douglas, AZ arrested a Mexican national & child predator with a previous conviction for felony Aggravated Criminal Sex Abuse w/ a victim under 13 years old.

This past week, USBP agents & their partners seized +700 lbs. of hard narcotics:
+450 lbs. Cocaine
+170 lbs. Fentanyl
+65 lbs. of Meth
+25 lbs. of Liquid Meth

That's over $10M of dangerous drugs.

5/7: USBP agents in Laredo, TX arrested another Mexican National 'Paisas' gang member, Jose Luis, Popoca-Pineda. He will be charged with felony re-entry after previously being removed from the U.S.

So far in FY24, USBP agents have arrested 80 known Paisas gang members.

5/6: USBP agents in Fort Hancock, TX attempted a vehicle stop on a Range Rover that ultimately 'failed to yield' & crashed, resulting in a bailout

Agents arrested 5 subjects including, a Mexican National Paisas gang member who has a prior order of removal that will be reinstated

Over the weekend, USBP agents in San Diego, CA collaborated w/ the Government of Mexico to mitigate illegal entries into the U.S., resulting in the detention of 168 migrants in Mexico.

The subjects will be held for further processing.

5/1: USBP agents in Las Cruces, NM performed a vehicle stop, resulting in a bail out & a foot pursuit. They apprehended Mexican national, Luis Antonio DeLeon-Lovera, who is a Pasias gang member.

He will be prosecuted for felony re-entry into the U.S.

4/30: USBP agents & our law enforcement partners in Tucson, AZ interdicted +57 lbs. of methamphetamine, & +88 lbs. of Fentanyl.

4/29: USBP agents in New Orleans, LA conducted a vehicle stop & arrested an MS-13 gang member, Lorenzo Alexander Benitez, from El Salvador. He will be prosecuted for felony re-entry after being previously removed from the US

FY24: USBP agents have arrested 41 MS-13 gang members.

Over the weekend, USBP agents in Eagle Pass, Rio Grande City, & Cotulla, TX arrested 3 criminal sex offenders. All had prior felony convictions for Indecency w/ child Sexual contact.

They will be set up for prosecution and removal from the U.S.

4/22: USBP agents in Eagle Pass, TX, and Orlando, FL, arrested 2 convicted sex offenders w/previous convictions for sexual assault and crimes against children. They now face prosecution and removal.

So far in FY24, agents have arrested 130 criminals with prior sex offenses.
