Honored to meet with the courageous female judges from Afghanistan, now living in Sydney and Melbourne cities. Forced to flee due to Taliban threats, these exceptional women represented the pinnacle of our judiciary. Their resilience & commitment to justice continue to inspire!

Last week, during his visit to Alice Springs, Ambassador Wahidullah Waissi met with Mayor Matt Paterson. Together, they explored a breadth of mutual interests, prominently featuring the enduring legacy of the #AfghanCameleers , and deliberated on possible collaborative endeavors.

A stark example of such loss is the demolition of the ancient Buddha statues in Bamiyan, Afghanistan by the Taliban in March 2001. These statues were not only archaeological treasures but also symbols of the historical diversity and cultural richness of the region.

The incident at Bondi Junction were a tragic display of violence, yet also a testament to undeniable courage. Today, as we mourn alongside all Australians, we extend our deepest sympathies to the bereaved. Afghans in Australia stand with you in solidarity & sorrow.

Privileged to meet Jose Petrick OAM in Alice Springs last week, a centenarian historian whose writings vividly capture the saga of the #AfghanCameleers . Her dedication preserves an essential chapter of Australian heritage. A true community gem at 100!

On this Eid holidays, I was honored to witness the majestic Ayers Rock & Mount Kata Tjuta in Uluru, sacred symbols of Australia’s indigenous heritage & natural beauty. Grateful of the opportunity to connect with these spiritual landscapes & celebrate its rich cultural tapestry.
