Filoli contains a variety of beautiful irises around the Garden, but the particular showstoppers are along the Iris Border next to the Rose Garden. One of the original historic varieties at Filoli is the ‘Purissima’ iris planted by Mrs. Roth. Happy Iris Day! 🤍

During AAPI month, Filoli celebrates the culture of native Pacific Islanders. Pasifika Planting Group has a plot in the Vegetable Garde and have been growing many beautiful crops indigenous to their homeland including taro, sī plant, kava, and kumala sweet potato. 🌱

Happy Arbor Day! 🌲 In the 1920s, William Bourn planted 175 olive trees at Filoli, hoping to become part of the production boom. They add Mediterranean charm to Filoli. Our horticulturists keep them in the same compact goblet shape they had when pictured in 1959.
