Mohamed Khalel was sitting outside his home in Khartoum, Sudan, when he was caught in a crossfire.
Hit by a bullet, his life was saved by paramedics.
But Mohamed couldn't afford the surgery to remove the bullet lodged in his body, and he now struggles with increasing pain.

Around 70% of Sudan's population depends on agriculture and livestock for their livelihoods, but the conflict has severely disrupted access to land.

To help affected communities, the ICRC regularly distributes food and non-food aid in various parts of the country.

In collaboration with the الهلال الاحمر السوداني, we have distributed multi-purpose cash assistance to more than 3,550 displaced people who fled their homes due to the conflict and sought refuge in Al-Jarribe village near Al-Geneina town, West #Darfur .

In Kassala, we have trained 40 الهلال الاحمر السوداني volunteers and 37 staff of health services of Police and SAF on the management of the dead.

The trainings aim to build their capacity to handle human remains with respect and dignity and to maximize future identification of dead bodies.

In Kassala, we trained 40 الهلال الاحمر السوداني volunteers from Kassala and Gedaref on the management of dead bodies.
The training aims to build their capacity to handle human remains with respect and dignity as well as to maximize future identification of dead bodies by relevant authorities.

In collaboration with الهلال الاحمر السوداني, first-aid training was provided to 120 displaced people in Port #Sudan .

The training aimed to familiarize the participants with lifesaving techniques tailored to their setting, allowing them to respond in an emergency.

We have assisted the Water Authority in the #Kassala State by supplying centrifugal and submersible pumps and chemical materials for water purification.

This support empowers the water authority to deliver clean water to more than 900,000 people. #Sudan
