One thing I’ll never understand… high school players that don’t work on their game during the season

If you want to be great, practice is NOT enough to get you where you want to go

Doing the “required” gets you what everyone else gets.. if you want to be special - Do the extra

PLAYERS: Playing time is most often based on your attitude, actions, and ability to contribute positively to the team's goals. A coach may give out playing time but you ultimately have a hand in determining your playing time. Make it an easy decision for your coach to play you.

The GREATEST sports parents are those who let the coaches coach, the officials officiate, are their children’s biggest support system, and spend more time and energy focusing on their child’s character, work ethic, and education, than anything else.

Parents: Here's 5 things to say after a game...

- That was fun to watch. You competed hard!
- Where do you want to go eat?
- I'm proud of the way you competed.
- Your teammate did a great job today.
- What was coach’s message after the game?

'Athletes who claim that they are dedicated and committed to their team, but at the same time, complain about their lack of playing time or talk negatively about teammates behind their back, may not be as dedicated & committed to their team as they think they are.' (Ralph Pim)

Players I refuse to work with

-Players who talk bad about coaches
-Players who talk bad about teammates

Putting everything else aside, if you repetitively talk about coaches and teammates in a negative manner, it speaks volumes about you.

“Winning has a price and leadership has a price.

So I pulled people along when they didn’t want to be pulled. I challenged people when they didn’t want to be challenged.

You lived at a certain standard. And I wasn’t going to take anything less.”

Just because you’re in the library, doesn’t mean you’re studying. Just because you’re in the gym, doesn’t mean you’re getting better. Just because you’re at work, doesn’t mean you’re working hard.
