Floods, fires & droughts are decimating economies around the world.

It is vital that all countries develop new & ambitious #ClimateAction plans by next year.

It is high time to stop the dangerous cycle of retaliation in the Middle East.

I condemn any act of retaliation & appeal to the international community to work together to prevent any further development that could lead to devastating consequences for the entire region & beyond.

The Middle East is on a precipice.

The international community must work together to prevent any actions that could push the entire region over the edge, with a devastating impact on civilians.

It is high time to end the bloody cycle of retaliation.

It is high time to stop.

To avert imminent famine, and further preventable deaths, we need a quantum leap in humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza.

Humanitarian agencies, led by UNRWA, must be able to move food & other supplies safely & via all possible routes & crossings, into & throughout Gaza.

Recent escalations in the Middle East make it even more important to find lasting peace between Israel & Palestine.

The ultimate goal remains a two-state solution.

The international community has a responsibility & a moral obligation to help make this happen.

The Middle East is on a knife-edge.

Recent days have seen a dangerous escalation – in words & deeds.

One miscalculation could lead to a full-scale regional conflict that would be devastating for everyone.

This moment of maximum peril must be a time for maximum restraint.

The end of the fossil fuel age is coming.

It is unstoppable.

Finance is essential to supercharge the shift & seize the benefits of resilient economies powered by renewables.

Let’s keep working for the ambitious #ClimateAction that people & planet deserve.

The future of Sudan requires the contributions, participation and vision of all Sudanese.

I will not relent in my calls to silence the guns, and meet the aspirations of the Sudanese people for a peaceful and secure future.

The world is forgetting about the people of Sudan.

Half of the country’s population needs lifesaving assistance.

But they need more than humanitarian support.

They need an end to the bloodshed.

They need peace.

The only path out of this horror is a political solution.

Monday marks one year since the start of fighting between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces.

This is more than a conflict between two warring parties.

It is a war being waged on the Sudanese people.

It is vital to avoid any action that could lead to major military confrontations on multiple fronts in the Middle East.

Civilians are already bearing the brunt & paying the highest price.

We have to actively engage all parties concerned to prevent further escalation.

We have a shared responsibility to work for peace.

Regional – and indeed global - peace and security are being undermined by the hour.

The world cannot afford more war.

The Middle East is on the brink.

The people of the region are confronting a real danger of a devastating full-scale conflict.

Now is the time to defuse and de-escalate.

Now is the time for maximum restraint.

Now is the time to step back from the brink.

I strongly condemn the serious escalation represented by the large-scale attack launched on Israel by Iran.

Human rights belong to all of us. They are non-negotiable.

And they are fundamental to our hopes for a world at peace.

The genocide in Rwanda was fuelled by decades of hate speech targeting the Tutsi.

Three decades later, the verbal violence of hate speech is still all around us.

The global community must stand as one against this torrent of hate speech, and denounce it wherever it’s found.
