So far, the visitors to Yellowstone National Park have been more friendly, engaging, and patient than they have been in recent memory.

I know that may change soon, but so far, the park has been an amazingly welcome and positive place.

Tonight’s aurora from Paradise Valley, looking toward Mount Delano in the Absaroka Mountains of Montana.

This was very brief and short lived, compared to last night.

Montana’s snowpack, as of last night.
On May 1st, the Upper Yellowstone region where I live was at 68%.
We definitely needed the last few days of snow.
