UC Irvine It’s a shame that peaceful free speech protests are always responded to with violence. Taking space on campus or in a building is not a threat to anyone. UCI leadership must do everything they can to avoid creating a violent scenario here. These are your students w/ zero weapons.

Gonna start calling this vibe 'Tech Bro Hysteria Syndrome' (actual TBHS tweet below)

Also, I went bar-hopping in the Tenderloin recently and felt zero fear. Am I Jason Bourne?

Seriously, how do these dudes expect to conquer Mars when they're terrified of Market Street?

All X users today in the US will see a timeline 'takeover' ad and a 'Spotlight' ad on the Explore page from conservative media org PragerU promoting a new doc that ties 'radical Islam' to the Free Palestine protests.

Each ad buy costs typically more than $500k for 24 hours.

Last week, Fetterman got on Fox News to criticize Biden's liquified gas export pause.

In 2018, he had joined Sunrise and Rep. Danielle Friel Otten to rally against fracked gas pipelines.

When a constituent asked why he flipped, he mocked her, then walked into a member-only elevator.

a very cyberpunk outcome - protester students forced to write some treacly essay by a private corporation that was convicted of hacking in 2014 ? ??

As a 3rd year med student I was paired to work one-on-one with an attending for a week. She was murdered by her husband the day after my rotation ended. When I found out I asked my school what I should do & they told me the best thing was to just focus on school & working harder.

I've just learned the crushing news that Crystal Welch, whose efforts were vital to changing Mississippi's state flag in 2020, was murdered over the weekend along with two family members.

She was VP of Mississippi Free Press's board.

My 2021 interview with her:

The reports are true: Today’s my first day at The New Republic! I’ll be covering breaking news — and still doing my own indie reporting, which is awesome ❤️‍🔥

Tips in bio!

Extremely excited for this new chapter! LET’S GO!!

With all the recent hubbub about the aurora, terms like 'G5' and 'geomagnetic storm' have been the talk of the town. If you're one that has no idea what that means, check out these graphics! For more information, check out swpc.noaa.gov/content/educat… or visit swpc.noaa.gov

THREAD: Nope, sorry. Major awards committees often look past or don't take seriously work produced by institutions that aren't the last big name, high-end ones standing. /1

It’s so funny, cause this is almost just like Garry Tan’s speech at that effective accelerationist meetup at the SF AGI House, the one that ended like this:

This is insane.

A serious loss not only to Ottawa County, but to all of us who have relied on Sarah Leach's extraordinary and nationally significant reporting.

2/Those arrested are facing suspensions which imperils the housing of those who live on campus. They emphasized that Rafah is being currently being bombarded.
They issued demands, including divestment and Khosla's immediate resignation.

1/ Yesterday, thousands of UCSD students participated in a walkout. They protested the police violence used to dismantle the Gaza solidarity encampment—and the university's decision to use police power in the first place.
