The MS Senate and House of Reps passed legislation today providing $1️⃣6️⃣0️⃣Million to allow for the 4laning of Hwy 7 South from the Hwy 7/Belk Int to the Hwy 7/9 roundabout. It took 25 years but WE DID IT! City-County-State-Univ worked together to make this a reality!

We will continue to post as the project progresses and will notify the community when this portion of the trail has re-opened. Phase 2 of the lighting project will be from Washington Ave to Jackson Ave. This trail closure will affect many children who walk to and from school.

TAKE NOTE: Starting Monday, April 29th, the walking trail from Price Street to Washington Avenue will be closed to allow for the installation of lighting along the trail. The duration of this closure is unknown at the time.

The regularly scheduled Tree Board Meeting for Thursday, April 4th, has been cancelled. Another meeting may be scheduled for later this month.

Tyler Avenue will be partially closed between South Lamar and South 14th Street as shown on the attached picture, from 1 to 5 pm on Thursday, March 7.  Crews will be making soil borings in this area during this time.  Please avoid this area and choose alternate routes.

A contractor has damaged a water line on Piedmont Dr in Azalea Gardens. Crews are currently working to repair the line.
