'I'm deeply troubled by the news that the Anti-Homosexuality Act remains largely intact,' said Chair Senator Ben Cardin. 'The of all people in Uganda—including LGBTQIA+ individuals—to live free from violence & discrimination, must be protected.”⬇️

The ruling on Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act is dangerous and fails to protect LGBTQI+ people & allies. The provisions of the AHA that were not overturned threaten human rights and Uganda's reputation and economy. Uganda’s government must protect the dignity of all its citizens.

Today’s verdict on Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act undermines human rights and public health for all and poses grave threats to LGBTQI+ Ugandans and allies. Uganda’s international reputation and ability to increase foreign investment depend on equality under the law.

World Bank UNAIDS Uganda Noteworthy: 's Constitutional Court referring to Dobbs v. Jackson decision striking down right to abortion in U.S., as supportive of criminalization of + communities, is abhorrent.
This is exactly the handbook of U.S. white, Christian extremist groups.

In Dred Scott v. Sandford, the U.S Supreme Court held the U.S. Constitution did not extend American citizenship to people of black African descent, there4 couldn't enjoy the rights and privileges the Constitution conferred upon American citizens. Poor legal reasoning, racism..etc
