David Cloninger began covering South Carolina WBB 16 seasons ago—the same year Dawn Staley became head coach.

He says that even now, the one thing that hasn’t changed is her devotion to local media.

“She will always make time for whoever’s asking for a piece of her time.”

The level of access Dawn Staley gives local media is not common for any coach at any level, nor is the amount of local coverage that the women's basketball team gets.
