I have been around for the collapse (or fading) of so many platforms. Most didn’t have pretensions to Global Mattering and died while everything was ‘Disrupting or Be Disrupted’ing so we didn’t really expect any of it to last.

I’m glad we got to say our earnest goodbyes earlier.

2014-2015: an important way to connect
2016: uh
2017-2020: I don’t think I like it here
2021: I used to go there
2022: there’s a lot of great memories under that smouldering debris

In 2001 the NYT devoted a lot of ink to the question of whether waterboarding was torture. On one side was international law and their own journalist practice going back decades. On the other was Republican politicians.
