'By maintaining message discipline, these students show that they are not only serious about the collective cause they are organizing for, but that they are also willing to forgo the momentary ego boost of seeing themselves quoted in news for the long-term goals of a movement.'🔥

Today, I witnessed pro-Israeli agitators & provocateurs descend upon the students from 3pm on UofT Occupy for Palestine. They were desperately antagonizing & trying to instigate some sort of violence.

I have watched this happen in some form or another every single day.

This part, Dr Williams. And my quick go-to in the context I study: eugenicists were racial inequality researchers and their inequality work was enthusiastically funded by many of the major foundations that still fund inequality research today.

Everywhere I've walked into, everyone I've cold-called or flagged IRL has been here for our students UofT Occupy for Palestine saying they love and admire the 🍉&🏕️people. Deeply humbled by obvious & invisible extensions of care in the midst of overwhelming heartbreak, opportunism, disregard🧿

There are many (wonderful) Jewish faculty & students at the UofT Occupy for Palestine... we even had a beautiful Circle Shabbat on Friday. As a member of JewishFaculty.ca, I was at the camp & asked to speak with this prof. I assure you it was his bad behaviour that led them to close the gate.

This!

Statistics on racial inequalities are only helpful if we have accurate theories to explain them. White supremacists use statistics on unequal incarceration rates to claim that Black men are inherently dangerous.

live: As reports come in that Hamas has accepted the latest US-Egyptian brokered deal (hostages release // ceasefire), thousands are out on the street expressing their distrust of @Netanyahu as initial signs already suggest he is bent on wrecking the deal.

Here’s our full-throated defense of outside agitators.

The presence of community members and experienced activists in campus protests is nothing to be ashamed of.

We need to connect with and learn from others to build a better world. jacobin.com/2024/05/outsid…

Every student protesting should know these three things:

1. You are a ray of hope for Gaza: Every person I’ve spoken to in and from Gaza has told me they were losing hope in international solidarity, until these protests started. They said the encampments are their main (for…

if you’ve not been on a college campus in a while it might be a bit difficult to grasp how deeply asinine it is for university administrators to respond to folks protesting the indiscriminate killing of palestinians with tents, singing and demands for donor transparency +
