Wow.

(It's not clear that the boost to downstream outcomes like flyouts could hold in long-run equilibrium, or that added visibility really is the mechanism driving it. But still, pretty striking, QED!)

Very interesting thread. But I would add: I was at a conference where a leading IO scholar’s keynote address showed declining market share for IO in top-5 journals & implored the assembled to go easier on one another in peer review! Many FTC officials were present!!
