Today, the Government announces it will formally recognise the State of Palestine on May 28th.

Today, we state clearly our unambiguous support for the equal right to security, dignity, and self-determination for the Palestinian and Israeli peoples.

The decision by the Irish Government to recognise the State of Palestine will formally take effect on 28 May.

It is vital that the independence and impartiality of the Int'l Criminal Court is respected. Ireland condemns recent threats against the #ICC and its officials. It is imperative for the rule of law that they are allowed to do their work fighting impunity without fear of reprisal.

Pleasure to speak at the premiere of 'Making In' at Bibliothèque BnF. The film by celebrated Irish designer Joseph Walsh 🇮🇪 explores 'making as a way of thinking', taking the Stone Pavilion project as an example. Transmission of #livingheritge is a process of inspiration and co-creation.

We remember the 1 million people murdered during the genocide in Rwanda 30 years ago. Ireland joins in remembering the lives taken and in expressing solidarity with survivors. We recall today the imperative of collective efforts to prevent genocide and crimes against humanity.

The Anti-Homosexuality Act in Uganda has had a serious impact on human rights & continues to pose a threat to LGBTI+ persons.

It is of deep concern that Uganda’s Constitutional Court has retained much of the Act. Ireland continues to defend human rights, including LGBTI+ rights.

Tánaiste Micheál Martin has announced that Ireland will intervene in the case initiated by South Africa against Israel under the Genocide Convention at the International Court of Justice.
