Maritime security is key: The 🇩🇪 #IndoPacific Deployment started on 7 May with 2 frigates setting sail.

In a spirit of partnership, they will contribute to the #EU maritime presence in the Indian Ocean & monitor #UN sanctions against North Korea. Wishing the crew a safe journey!

🇩🇪is concerned about the recent incident in the South China Sea causing damage to PCG and BFAR vessels. We reiterate our call for the respect of UNCLOS and the peaceful resolution of conflicts. Use of force is never the solution! International law must prevail!

Dangerous manoeuvres, water cannoning, floating barrier, or any aggressive behaviours, is a threat to safety of life at sea, the freedom of navigation, and the prohibition of the use of force or coercion. In short, this is against international law.

New homes and new hope for marginalized communities: thanks to Gawad Kalinga association and with support from 🇩🇪, 60 families received new homes. Ceremonial handover in Cabiao/Nueva Ecija with Mayor Rivera and Father Ben, SJ. So many happy and smiling faces!

And we are not forgetting the people in Gaza who fear for their lives day & night & who continue to lack everything. Far too little aid is arriving. We are working hard to get more aid in. This is another reason why I am traveling to Israel again today.

Israel has our full solidarity and can rely on us. We are also not forgetting the many dozens of Israeli hostages who continue to be held captive in Hamas tunnels. They must finally be released.
