Wind and solar power have taken off over the past two decades, even faster than experts expected. But it hasn’t yet been enough to halt the rise of coal- and gas-burning generation.

Indomitable courage in face of the inevitable, nothing could deter Harsh expanding his to-do list.
His aspiration was to create a strong research environment towards greater social good.
A million dreams die with this young loss.
Your message to me will always be treasured.

This is such tragic news. I remember Harsh talking about him being diagnosed with stomach cancer just over 2 years ago.

I have had some wonderful conversations with him here related to science, philosophy, books, and life in general.

Om Shanti, Harsh 🙏

Harsh left for a long journey from which he will not return. His life was like that; a travelling saint, an adventurous soul, lost, who somehow ended up in academia. We shall not wander the ghats of the Ganga together again, physically.

Goodbye friend.

In the last few weeks I’ve often found myself politically on, while not exactly the opposite side, on a different side of the fence as my friends. My opinion of them as friends has not changed one bit. Now more than ever it’s important to recognize our common ground and diversity

Shailja Vaidya Gupta To top it off, SSR funds can be leveraged further by pooling few more awardees and go for bit larger scale covering let's say 10 schools...More like PM scheme of 'adopting' school around your locality.

Do read this tribute by William Dalrymple to BN Goswamy, one of the world’s great art historians. BNG’s scholarship of Pahari painting was stunning. He visited National Centre for Biological Sciences about 20 years ago and opened the doors to a culture many of us were oblivious. A gem. Shailja Vaidya Gupta
