Our Hindu and Indian American community often face Hinduphobic attacks and bias incidents in schools, workplace or neighborhoods, but many are unsure of where to go or what to do.

Being an immigrant heavy community, we also shy away from engaging with law and public officials

As a professor, I find it appalling that ANY student has to go through this at an academic institution, specially at a California campus. Shame! Shame, UC Davis!!

My kids - born American - touch the feet of all guests. Humility, empathy, and respect for wisdom of elders does not make you less excellent in your professional lives or any other sphere. Quite the opposite, I have observed.

Honoring elders and guests is fundamental to the Hindu ethos. It imbibes a sense of humility and helps to control the ever-growing egoistical force in modern society.
