Thank you to our Houston-area linemen

As thousands of home and business owners suffered through the recent storm aftermath without lights and AC, men and women from within and beyond city limits worked to help restore power. πŸ™β€οΈ

Meet 'Carlos' the Alexandrine Parakeet 🦜

Carlos is quickly becoming a fan favorite in the Cockrell Butterfly Center, much to Smégol the Green Iguana's disdain 🦎

This swallow hieroglyph had the sound value 'wer', and was used to write the word 'great'. Free-standing sculptors' models of signs of parts of the body were circulated to establish standard style and proportions throughout a project.

Ptolemaic Period, 332-30 BC

These 'hollow' brown balls in your yard are 'Oak Galls'.

They are made of plant material that often form around wasp larvae, but can form around any foreign material the tree wants to isolate and yeet.

Not typically dangerous to you, nor the tree.

AKA 'Oak apples.'

How are you celebrating Earth Day today? 🌎

Planet vs Plastic is the theme for 2024 which aims to reduce the production of plastic by 60% by the year 2040.

The good folks seen here are celebrating around Gaia, by Luke Jerram which can be seen in our Grand Hall.

This handsome boi on your backyard fence is the Brown Anole lizard.

His colorful neck flap is called a dewlap. He uses this rizz to slide in to her DM's and to warn other bros about catching these hands.

If you had a time machine that could take you to one of the four time periods, where are you going?

A) Mesozoic Era (Dinosaurs)
B) Ancient Egypt (3100 B.C. - 332 B.C.)
C) Industrial Revolution (1760-1840)
D) The Late 1900s (Saved by the Bell)
