Thank you for giving my Protos film X/tweet such a wonderful reception and boosting the signal so much. Truly, that means a lot to me. This is my first feature film script, and what an amazing and thrilling journey it's been from script to Cannes.

Day of the Triffids features strange lights in the sky. And killer plants. Now that the Earth is being bathed in the aurora, it's timely to signal boost my sequel.

And I lived in Pontefract so there was the constant sweet aroma from the town's liquorice factories pervading the atmosphere.

Cheers, Mark. Thanks for your kind words. Genuinely, that means a lot to me. I felt my writing really came alive for the first time when I began setting stories in a place I knew well. Location has its own lifeblood.

Wyndham often set his novels just a few years ahead of his present day, eg, Midwich Cuckoos, 50s, features a colour TV. Not seen in the UK until the late 60s. Night of the Triffids is set 25 years after the original.
