Hearing stories like this is why I wish we could get back to taking rap more seriously as an art & stop devaluing it because people just think anyone can rap. It’s levels and it’s science that not everybody can truly comprehend

Israel bombed the Iranian consulate in Syria assassinating multiple senior Iranian officials & we're supposed to believe that it's Iran drawing 'the Middle East into a wider conflict' & should 'work to de-escalate and prevent further attacks'. An insult to people's intelligence.

As we remember Paul Robeson, born on this day in 1898, do yourself a favor and dig into the archives of Freedom Newspaper, founded by Robeson in 1951, published monthly until 1955. A rich source of information about Black radicalism in the ‘50s

I’m going back to sharing good, insightful things that I’m reading, watching, and listening to in order to offset the nonsense that this site has been pushing and promoting. You should too

Mister Cee was a giant.
He always deserved better from the culture he built and nurtured.
Despite it all, he never folded.
He gave everything he had to hip-hop with an aspirational amount of responsibility, care and precision. He was deeply, deeply loved. God bless you, sir.

Institutional. Iconic. Legendary. Mister Cee made sure any rap legend would be able to rest in peace because no one could honor a legacy like he could when it was time to mourn and celebrate a life. We should all do the same for him. RIP to The Finisher. 🫡🙏🏽
