What a day to be out at Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve in Northumberland with BBC Countryfile. We’ve just found - and protected - some Ringed Plover eggs on the beach!
Fascinating scientific technique!… that seaweed can indicate the level of pollution both in the present day and in decades gone by based on historic samples. As I saw for myself filming last year’s BBC Panorama, the Mersey gets more than its fair share of sewage pollution…
Tonight on BBC The One Show we’re talking treasure with the British Museum. And I get to meet prolific mudlark Caroline Nunneley (check out her IG profile - carolinenunneleymudlark - and you’ll see what I mean!)
Even BBC Countryfile presenters can’t resist a trip to Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park when passing by. Thanks Adam - kids loved it! Your piglets def win the cutest prize. We’ve taken two and left you our boys…

We’ve all moaned about our wet winter but for many farmers it’s been a disaster - the worst they’ve known. Tonight on BBC The One Show I’m with farmer Tim Scott whose fields have been too wet to sow. Harvests will be down significantly, but what will that mean for us all? 7pm BBC1
IRONIC that poet Simon Armitage has just published a book called #blossimise when the Banksy tree is so blossom-less!
Here are 3 photos - check how full of blossom it was in April 2021 & in 2022. Then now.
This is like clipping a bird's wings. Bad tree practice.

Interesting piece by Phoebe Cooke. Seems California is next on the list in Drax's push to secure more access to wood to either burn at its power plant in Yorkshire or ship to its customers in Asia...
Join us this Christmas Eve for a BBC Countryfile Cumbrian Christmas. Samantha Kinghorn and I are with #youngfarmer Katie and her lovely family on their farm to get the festivities in full swing… tonight 6pm on BBC1
