Whilst the UK has grown faster than the main EU economies and Japan since 2010 we have fallen further behind the USA. Time to use our Brexit freedoms to boost UK growth with lower taxes and less EU style interference in business.

The Bank of England will be pleased retail sales were poor last month. How much longer for its lurch to austerity? It should stop selling the bonds. It stops a growth policy. Taxpayers have to pay for the Bank losses instead of buying things they need.

More rail strikes mean more people will give up on rail travel. Taxpayers will be sent an even bigger bill to pay rail losses. Many commuters can work from home. The rail industry needs to think of ways of winning more business, not stopping it.

Most people get more government than they want and more government than they can afford. Too many layers of government makes it difficult to know who does what. Unfortunately as a result a majority of people do not vote in Council, police and regional elections.

The regional Mayors need to help businesses and residents in their cities instead of grandstanding on national and international politics and blaming the government for their own failures.

Councils like Lib Dem led Wokingham make residents lives worse. They close roads, cut the refuse service, fail to maintain public spaces, let potholes get worse, put up parking charges, damage local businesses and waste huge sums of money on property and bad road schemes.

Labour say voters want change. Most do not want more taxes, more bans, more illegal migration, more restrictions on driving which many fear Labour would bring them.

Most voters did not cast a vote in the local elections. Only 34% who did voted Labour. So why does Labour claim that shows people want their policy of an immediate General election?

Wokingham Lib Dems sent out enough leaflets to remind voters not to give them a majority on the Council. Their higher car park charges, higher taxes, closed and narrowed roads, more potholes, a worse refuse service and wasteful spending are not popular.

Wokingham Lib Dems spent the election wasting lots of donors' money on self glorifying leaflets. It made a change from wasting taxpayers money at the Council on anti driver schemes, worsening refuse collection and ignoring consultation responses.

Too many Councils waste money on bureaucracy, ignore the findings of consultations, blame the government for their own errors and fail to do the basics well. We want them to let us drive to work and the shops, to maintain the public spaces, to collect the rubbish weekly and to…

Many voters stayed at home, underwhelmed by what the parties offered. Councils matter. Too many tax us too much. They damage shopping centres with aggressive anti driver policies. They fail to do the basics of rubbish collection and roads well.
